Tamzin was born in 1970, in Essex. She attended a Catholic School until the age of 16 when she was accepted into the prestigious London Studio Centre. Here she learnt Singing, Dancing and Acting until she graduated at the age of 19, and ended up winning the 'all rounder' trophy for that year.
In 1990 she was in the touring production of Grease, playing the part of Patty Simcox. She then had a parts in West End productions of Carousel, Oliver, and another production of Grease.
Tamzin then auditioned for a role in Alan Aykborns 'they're playing our song' and began a long run of the show in Scarborough. Alan was so impressed with Tamzin, that he gave her a role in his next production, 'Absent Friends.'
Three days after she finished 'Absent Friends', she auditioned for EastEnders. This was her big break, and she was given the part of Alex's sister Melanie Healy. She stayed in the soap for three and a half years, with storylines of adultery, deceit, kidnap, fraud, arson and more. She attracted audiences of up to 25million.
Melanie finally escaped Walford in 2002. Tamzin had just done the pilot of Red Cap the previous Autumn, and this attracted 8 million viewers, so they signed up up for a whole six part series.
In the meantime, she also got a part in Dominic Savage's improvised drama 'Out of Control', late 2002. This was critically acclaimed and Tamzin won awards for her role as 'Shelley'.
The series of Red Cap was aired in January 2003, and Tamzin reprised the role of Jo Mc Donaugh, a sergeant in the Special Branch Detective Squad of the army. The series did well, and post production for a new series has begun. It will air at the end of the year.
Easter 2003 saw Tamzin's latest drama 'Final Demand'. It was a screen play written by Deborah Maggoch. Tamzin played the part of Natalie Bingham, a fraudster. At the same time as this Tamzin was also snapped up to be the new face of Avon in a £250,000 deal.
In July 2003 Tamzin starred as Dierdra in the play Flesh Wound at the Royal Court Theatre. The play got rave reviews and was critically acclaimed.
Tamzin is now filming the second series of Red Cap.
